Seashore Road

Found a poem in my journal that I wrote on New Year’s Eve, 2011. I rather like it.

Seashore road

Today, the bright mists of the seashore road flowed over me,
Enveloping the world in an ocean of gray and gray road before me.
Through the cloud of Yahweh’s glory, I drove.

Now and then, a break, and hills of green shone around me.
Then swiftly by and engulfed again.
I say, “How like me.”

In the glory and presence of God, I see so little around me.
In a colorless world, my heart falls within me.
Yet a boundless country, wild and free, encircles me
And gives of the home that calls out to me.
